Anxiety & Panic Attacks

Anxiety & Panic Attacks.png

Anxiety and panic are extremely common in today’s world.

When we feel anxious, our body reacts: palms may sweat, muscles tighten, and our mind locks onto the trigger. Breathing also changes — it often becomes faster and deeper, pushing the body into a “Fight or Flight” state. This is a natural stress response.

When Anxiety Becomes a Disorder

Everyone feels anxious or worried at times. But if anxiety is intense, ongoing, and disrupts daily life, work, or relationships, it may be more than a normal stress response — it may be an anxiety disorder.

Breathing and Anxiety

Normally, once the stress has passed, the nervous system restores the body to balance.
But if someone breathes more than the body truly needs (chronic over-breathing or hyperventilation), this balance is disrupted. The nervous system stays switched on, leaving the person in a constant state of “Fight or Flight.” This can feel like living with a permanently raised level of anxiety.

Anxiety Relief

Breathing Well can help calm this cycle. By restoring healthy breathing patterns, it reduces the over-breathing that drives anxiety and panic. Many people find it acts like a circuit breaker, easing symptoms and restoring calm.

  • Signs of a Panic Attack – sudden, intense fear or discomfort that escalates quickly.

  • Hyperventilation and Anxiety – the two feed each other which can see people stuck in a loop between the two.
